Nearly snow.

The weather forecast on the 9 news was for likely snow in the hills. It did not eventuate but we got the next best thing, hail.....pease click to enlarge the pictures. Here we have a shot of it along the southern side of our house.
Next, caught in the Agave. This poor plant will suffer. It is always marked where the hail hits and the leaves will be spotted.
Just another pot plant with hailstones. Wouldn't you know it...the batteries in the camera are ALWAYS flat when you need it in a hurry. There has been some "wild and wooly" weather here for the last few days, rain and wind. Extreme dust storms in the Eastern states. This is SPRING folks !!!

Oh !! What beauty...

Close up shot of the flowers of my beautiful weeping cherry tree
Its such a pity
that as soon as it flowers the wind picks up and blows the petals off. I wish someone could breed flowering trees and shrubs that flower, for longer than one week. I have made a Blog about this tree last year, I know, but I just cant help myself. At least it waited for me to return home from my trip to Canberra.

Home again, home again.......

Pictures of our beautiful Capital City, CANBERRA. Lake Burley Griffin in the foreground
I have no idea what the buildings are, everything is so clean and pretty.
The pictures were all taken from almost the same spot

The plan was to see Floriade
which is an annual festival of flowers, but unfortunately I (we) got the dates mixed up, I was there a week too soon and it was all fenced in. My daughter-in-law has promised to send me some photos.
Canberra is a very pretty place, a lot like Adelaide, with hills surrounding the city.

Canberra, here I come !

I shouldn't be sitting here, wasting time. I can't help myself. Pity Popeye can't come as well, he has 2 incubators full of eggs to look after. The worst part is, I'm going to miss my weeping cherry tree in all its glory this year, the buds are about to burst into bloom.
